This is the first (and LAST) book from the Head First series that I will be reading. If I wanted to look at pictures of dumb-asses THINKING about technology, I’d take my camera to work. I don’t want to do crossword puzzles or look at pictures of tigers to learn HTML5. I want a moderately serious book that conveys a technological topic. These books are radically different from the core O’Reilly books and is a terrible let-down.
To add something remotely positive about this book, if you come from a non-technology background or feel completely lost when looking over other tech books, this book might be for you. Or, if you want your kid to learn HTML 5 while you read books for big kids, then this book might be for you. If you’re looking for a book whose content is based on code and not pictures and graphs, then I highly recommend staying away from this book.
